Aromatherapy is a new approach to emotional well being and healing through the use of essential oils.

Oils in aromatherapy have soothing effect on the body, mind and soul.

A gentle hug, smile or a kiss are forms of connection, bonding between the parent and the child. A loving nurturing touch of massage on the feet, arms, hands, back, abdomen and legs is therapeutic for both the child and parent, usually the mother.

Babies at six weeks of age can recognize their mother’s scent, hence making them extremely sensitive to any kind of fragrance, pleasant or unpleasant.

Fragrant essential oils used during the upbringing of your child supports your little one’s health, happiness and well being.

Essential oils have distinct composition determining the fragrance, colour, and effect on our body. Before you introduce your child to the aromatic world of fragrances, seek advice from your GP or qualified aroma therapist.

If possible, carry out detailed research your self on the oil you plan to use on your infant or child.

Listed below are few commonly used essential oils that are used for kids.

– Lavender oil is excellent home remedy for headaches, earaches and even insect bites.
– Geranium and rose oils act as a good skin softener, toner and natural astringent.
– Chamomile and peppermint oils prevent hair loss.

– Lavender, lemon and curry leaf oils provide relief from dandruff.
– For any bruises and burns, use tea tree and lavender oils.
– Black pepper oil is good for constipation.
– Cedar wood, eucalyptus and tea tree oils alleviate coughs.

– Ginger, lavender and thyme oil works wonders on sore throats.
– Lavender and roman chamomile oil blend allows for restful sleep at night.
– Lemon and grapefruit oils added to a tub of warm water for a bath refreshes the kid.

A word of caution for any parents planning on using aromatherapy oils on their children. Please exercise caution while using essential oils.

Its best to stick to mild oils and less is best. Since essential oils are highly concentrated, make sure that they are properly diluted with water or carrier oils.

Improper dilution can result in skin irritation for your little ones. Don’t let your children be alone while using essential oils.

Can you calm the kids down instantly? Do you wish that you would feel and look more in control for the big meeting? Thousands of people around the world have discovered the powerful benefits of Aromatherapy. And you can do it to.

With the stress involve in our way of living today, we get psychological and physiological consequences to our fragile health.

We spend more of our hard earned money on over-the-counter medication or on prescriptions to help cure our little and bigger pains.

The power of Aromatherapy could help you lead to a better outlook of life And keep more money in your pocket.

But what is Aromatherapy exactly?
Aromatherapy is the art and practice of using essential oils extracted from aromatic plants and herbs to restore or enhance health, beauty and well being.

Aromatic molecules interact with the tops of your nasal cavity and gives the signal to the limbic system (the emotional switchboard of the brain).

The limbic system is directly connected to the part that controls the heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, memory, stress level and hormone balance.

And it works. For example, we use Vicks for our colds, sinusitis and sore throat. It contains Eucalyptus. For me, it’s the only treatment that I find effective for Bronchitis, despite antibiotics treatment.

Let’s talk about Lavender. Lavender is multi use oil; it has strong psychological effects and physiological cures.
We find Lavender in the France.

That flower has a fresh, sweet, floral scent. It has calming effect; smell it when you are stressed in the traffic, or at work,

or right before an exam because Lavender has calming proprieties for panic attacks, stress, anxiety and even depression! It’s a gentle narcotic for mental and physical strain.

Some couples use Lavender base candles during giving birth to have the most calming experience, for the mother and for the new born.

Other people burn a candle on a regular basis, after a surgery to help cope with the pain. You can also do it to calm the kids in the house! Or, for an anticipated quiet night at home with you lover…

Lavender is a good antibiotic for the skin. If your child has cuts and burnings, you can apply creams or lotion with enough concentration of the oil to prevent infection. It also reduces scaring.

Another good aromatic oil is Rosewood. It origins from a native tree in Brazil. It has a psychological effect of balancing, uplifting and enliving.

You can use it before an interview, or a business meeting, or even before a hot date! If you are feeling down or lack of “joie-de-vivre” this aromatic essence can change your state of mind and make you look like an enjoyable person (save on alcohol or drugs here!).

Rosewood is also good to treat sensitive of aged skin, because it stimulates the regeneration of the skin.
You can use Aromatherapy in different forms;

candles, shower gels, soap, bath mousse, diffuser, potpourri, spray for the room, etc… whatever you feel comfortable with.

There is a good selection on www.quixtar.com – IBO #3378953 There are 4 lines of products: FloraCalm, PureForest, Vitafruits and AquaSpa.

You can use aromatherapy for different emotional well-being; you can treat anger, anxiety, confidence, depression, burnout, loneliness, concentration, etc…

With all the chemicals that float in the air, in the water and in our food, those can produce chemical imbalance in the brain and change our moods and alter the relation that we have with the people in our lives.

The use of aromatic products is a cheap solutions for better health and an happier life.
All those aromatic products can help you have better relationship with your mate

(or the opposite sex), with your business associates, at social events, in your home, etc…. to be able to obtain more out of life because of the uplifting attitude that you’ll get.

Be careful of buying too cheap; make sure that you are buying quality products with enough concentration to get the beneficial effects.

Wishing you great moments!

Create Your Own Bliss With Aromatherapy

I live an alternative lifestyle. It’s nothing radical or rebellious. I’m a work at home mom, over forty with a toddler.

Aromatherapy And Kids

At this point in my life I expected to have a bustling career and grown kids either out of the house or about ready to leave the nest,

but life doesn’t always turn out the way we’re told it should – stuff happens; stressful situations pop up everyday, either caused by us or ‘for’ us.

How do I ‘treat’ these situations and still care for my mind and body without loosing it? There’s where the other component of my alternative lifestyle comes in – aromatherapy

Aromatherapy, or ‘treating with scents’, is huge and growing in the area of alternative medicines, and is used in hospitals and homes to treat anything from labor pains to cardiac rehab.

Although used in other countries for centuries, aromatherapy is making its way into the everyday lives of people around the US. People like myself, potentially stressed out work at home moms.

If you’re new to the idea of using aromatherapy to help reduce the stress in your life, then start with something simple such as a lavender bath or other lavender essential oil product.

Here is a simple and wonderful recipe that you can try at home in your bath before bed.

Lavender Calming Bath Crystals

1 cup Epsom salts
10 drops Lavender essential oil
1 drop food coloring
Shake all ingredients in a Ziploc bag until coated. Store in a bottle or bag.

Another wonderful way to use aromatherapy to relieve stress is to apply a lovely lavender scented body lotion to your sore aching muscles.

Apply this easy to mix lavender lotion after your bath, or if you’re lucky enough to have a partner who is willing, request a relaxing massage before bed.

The calming scent of lavender works for fussy babies, why not stressed moms? Here is a simple recipe for a lavender lotion that you’ll love.

Lovely Lavender Lotion

1 oz. glycerin
2 tsp. oil of lavender
Put ingredients in a clean glass bottle and shake well. Refrigerate.

When life makes you crazy, remember, you have the power to create a calming oasis in your own home. Take a few minutes for yourself and relax.

As mothers, we tend to forget that we must nurture ourselves before we can nurture our children to the best of our abilities.

What better place to start than in our bath with beautiful scents, sounds and soft candlelight? Our lifestyles need not take over our lives.
